Chess Website where Engines are allowed?

I think I read once that computer assistance might be accepted here in casual games. I hope a mod such as TonyRo or Unihedron can explain this here.
"I think I read once that computer assistance might be accepted here in casual games."

I wont mark if its in casual games.
maybe the other mods/faqs might have changed that i dunno lol.

"2. Can I use an engine in casual games (or against stockfish/the puzzles/opening training)?

A: Yes. You may, however, let your opponent know you're using one. You can use an engine against stockfish if you please; games against the computer are never rated. Similarly, using an engine to solve a puzzle (or help you in the opening training) is not against the rules and you will not be marked as a cheater. But, should you use an engine for the training puzzles/openings, you'll only be cheating yourself."
Using an engine is NEVER acceptable and is against the terms of use.

However, we do not moderate games between anonymous* players.

You can use computer assistance in CASUAL games IF AND ONLY IF your opponent knows and is alright with playing under such circumstances.

Correspondence is just another game mode and is not exempt from the "no cheating" rule. However using opening books for correspondence is tolerable, given the extent that you still play by yourself.

*: for cheating, abusive behaviour is still monitored
On Echecs Email, log are forbidden but accepted but don't say it ! Players more than 2300 use logs. Stupid but good for proud... beuh......
Lol! It looks like the Mods cannot agree among themselves. See how the post #14 by Mod Unihedron contradicts the post #12 by Mod Legend. I believe the Chief Mod Thibault should clean the mess and create a uniform policy as soon as possible.
to #17, I agree that Lichess is a type of chess school since that's where I learned to play chess. Lichess rules for no cheating are very similar to rules of exams at schools. All schools have SAME (uniform) exam policies designed to prevent cheating.
By "uniform", I meant the first definition since it's an adjective describing policy.
I googled it for you:
u·ni·form
adjective
1.

"blocks of stone of uniform size"

2.
denoting a garment forming part of a person's uniform.
"black uniform jackets"
noun
1.
the distinctive clothing worn by members of the same organization or body or by children attending certain schools.
"airline pilots in dark blue uniforms"

2.

verb
1.
make uniform.

Back to your point, some schools require to wear uniforms. Lots of others do not. In Canada, high schools usually require uniforms but adult schools usually do not require uniforms. For now, Lichess still does not require players to wear its uniform while playing at the website. They don't have profile pictures either. It might change soon and you will be required to have a Lichess uniform and upload a picture of you wearing it to keep playing here. Therefore, you should purchase your uniform as soon as possible before the store runs out of stock.
Here is the link for the store:

thanks for the information.
But it does sound a bit funny to have a uniform for a chess website.
If those are going to be the rules then I suppose we'll have to follow them.
Don't worry. There is no way that a uniform would be required for a chess website. It was a joke. I'm glad you found it funny!
