The horror!

In my opinion, Alpha on a Maple board is by far the best for practical games.
Best has to be for a valid scientifically proven physical or healthy reason.
I use this, he uses that. So what. It's the why it's used and not just because you like it or others use it.

This post convinced me of playing "Shapes" on Metal. Is the kind of mechanical shit I like.
I refused to play on Lichess for a long time because the knight in cburnett annoys me. It is so badly drawn.
To me Merida on brown is perfect. I use bases on brown on the other site and have a similar experience.
Horsey is the best chess set, glad you included it. However the picture you used had the board horsey not Wood3.

I never realized you could hue shift the board sets, the purple horsey board looks pretty good. I want to give it a try, thank you.

You wanna talk about horses? Lemme tell ya:
Good horses:
1) Merida
2) Chessnut
3) Maestro
4) Anarcandy
All the others suck
chess7 is the worst horse. alpha too.

The slight shading on Merida makes it my favourite. Bases on the other site lacks that.
