Cheating at "rapid" \ "standard" controls

I just want to say that there are significantly more cheats at 15+15 than at 5+3. Significantly means 10 times more AT LEAST.

My estimate is that Out of my last 20 standard games 2 were against sure cheaters. And 1 against likely cheater. Some could use minor engine assistance wich is undetectable. None of them were flagged (but last case I reported just recently).

That means realistic 10-15% games were against engine! In comparrison in my blitz I remember 1 cheated game out of 150 = 0.66%.

Previously they were flaging A LOT less obvious cheaters. Seems to me that lichess sort of gave up. Since whats the reason flagging if they can just return with new account?
So you are more reliable than the anti-cheating AI / algorithms used by lichess?

In the medium / long run nothing is undetectable. You need to gather some moves (which include tons of meta data), indeed.
I lost to 2 cheaters in 1 week. Thanks to great cheat detection algorithms I got my points back and one cheat even got banned after my report, but my overall experience got completely ruined.

I think participation criteria for tournaments should be much more strict. At least 50 rated games for classical and way more for short games. Else they will keep creating new accounts and do their stupid stuff.

This won't guarantee cheating free games, of course but at least provide some relief.
Tournnaments have nothing to do with cheating. I play no tournements for instance.
Its a question of stricter approach to engine use at controls 10+5 to 15+15.

5+3 is mostly free from this since clock problem makes it much harder to use engine cautiously and use it a lot since blitz games are played in high numbers generally.
Most cheaters would abstain from it most of the time and just go cheat at control comfortable for using engine.
Detect them sooner? IP ban them? Request ID at account opening?
I m a dilletant to tell what to do. I just assume that slow controls should be more under scrunity if possible. Since its absolutely not the same as blitz.

I use my formula. And while I do things mostly OK.
"I cancel slow games vs 1. new accounts (relative to the N of games played) 2. accounts with 250+ gap between 5+3 and slow controls. Sorry for the fair players not matching those criteria. But this is limitations of internet chess."
On my part I wont close\open any new account to have more stats available for opponents to evaluate my reputation.

Lichess is doing much better than anyone still. Thanks a lot.
IP banning them means that it punishes all the players using that internet, thats not fair. Say if one of the chessbrahs cheated, if you IP ban them none of the other players would be able to play since they are all on the same internet.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the cheater epidemic on lichess.org is vastly blown out of proportion. I have played about three and a half thousand games on lichess.org and have encountered cheaters only once in a blue moon. Certainly not regularly and certainly not once every ten games. Of course, this doesn't mean that there aren't any. I understand that some people may have the misfortune of running into them far more frequently than I, while others are probably just sore losers lashing out against their victorious opponents.

Luckily, there is a great system in place already. lichess.org has a fantastic team of moderators and an effective algorithm for stopping cheaters, and if you happen to find one that's slipped through the cracks, you can report them. Provided you were indeed correct in your assumption and provided sufficient evidence, they'll be taken care of and you'll be reimbursed your rating.

All these suggestions like ID checking and IP banning are insanely unnecessary. Not only are they incredibly flawed methods of security (IP banning would block all users on the same device from accessing the site), but they would drastically hurt the accessibility of lichess.org ("Sorry, we're one of the only sites on the internet that requires an ID to join, as if we're a bar or something, so all you poor 15-year-olds and mountain men without IDs can f*ck yourselves.")

Don't shy away from playing provisional players just because there is a 1% chance of them being a cheater. We were all new once. You refuse to volunteer yourself to take one for the team but remember that someone has to play them if they are ever going to be verified as a fair player or a cheater (most likely the former).
#9 answer to the question that wasnt asked.

3K games and close to 0 games with 15min+ control. Your blitz-bullet is not relevant here. 10+0 is also clean since its a blitz generally.
