Have you ever had tickets to a professional sporting event?

I have watched a lot of amateur sporting events, but never anything professional. How about you? What sports have you seen live? I know it is a better experience than watching it on tv... go ahead, tell us about it. You know you want to. ;-D

I don't know about that. No closeups, not much in the way of comfort, no replays (unless you count that big TV they've got at the stadium!).
Every once in a while I climb the Betzenberg, home of the famous 1. FC Kaiserslautern (K-town like our beloved Amercians say, Ramstein is pretty close). Soccer in the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, those were the days.
Let's see what I can remember.
Many Montreal Canadiens games at the old Forum (I used to live a block away as a student and standing tkts were $10 and close to the action). Many Montreal Expos baseball games ($5 tkts, make your way down in the 3rd inning). Tons of Hull Olympiques junior hockey games as a young teen (those were the best). An F1 race in MTL (it was an all day event and BYOB - all a blur). A Nascar race in Dover (r*dn*cks, everywhere! jk). A monster truck show (with my young son). I saw Lebron play in Miami (cool). A Wizards game (boring). Some MLS soccer games. A Redskins football game (expensive - definitely not worth it). One or two Nats baseball games.

My to do list:
One Ravens game in Baltimore.
One Arsenal game in England, somehow.
I’ve watched professional hockey and professional baseball and professional chess.

Hockey is the most entertaining of the 3, but the other two are still good fun. Just don’t cheer too loudly if you partake in number 3.
excuses yeah, but some kids were going to ice hockey and invited us and i joined the kids and parents coze i thought as a figure skater, its at least better than all the other sports out there like soccer. but the fans of ice hockey are indistinguishable from soccer fans, so i am healed of prof sports events by that single incident.
Plenty of AFL (Australian Football League) and AIHL (Australian Ice Hockey League) games, a Brace MMA (former Australian MMA promotion) event about 6 years ago, would be others too when I was younger and have forgotten :)

As for if it's a better experience live than watching it on TV? Well it depends, the crowd at an AFL game is generally fantastic with the amount of noise being made, but the field is so large often times you can't see what is going on across the other side of the field (100+ metres away) properly. Still good to go once a while though to soak up the atmosphere.
