Tourney pairing bug?

I am constantly being paired with player who are 500-1000 rating points higher then me, even though there are players with a rating closer to my rating, is this normal or a bug? Would seem the system should be paring me with someone with a rating of no more then 500 points higher then mine.

Hmm... I suspect this is perfectly normal, and that maybe you're just getting unlucky with the pairings. Obviously there will be some dependence on the sort of tournament you're entering: if the quality of player in the tournament is, on average, between 500 and 1000 points better than you, they will be your average opponent.
