iOS app unresponsive

My iOS app is unresponsive. When I open it there is an endless loading icon below the number of players and games. Clicking on any of the tiles on the home page does nothing. I can access is the puzzles and settings but I can’t join any games or see friends online.

There’s no lag between me and the server. I’ve reinstalled the app. I also waited a day hoping it would resolve itself, but the issue persists. Any recommendations? The app has been working perfectly the past year.
I have exact same problem on my iPad.
The iOS app has been acting up for nearly a week. Frustrating.
Yea, this newest update has loads of issues for iPad… the most disconcerting of them all, is that stalkfish when I quickly run through the variation offered on the gear for 5 lines ngn, is really poor,
luckily, I have time and can let it run for an hour, for 5 moves and so on.

The second issue I feel like a fool, but I am not getting the ngn to run many times when on the ‘gear’, I then go ‘home’ and back to my games to try again, and the game I had just played and ngn analysis, is just not there, but when I go to safari and into my profile, selecting the games, and it’s there, and I would not care to use safari to play or analyze, because I am not trusting it, I like the app, I’ve played thousands of games on it, I go to safari to build my studies and open as many played ones I like, so, I do use the browser,

why can I not use the app for getting in a Swiss tourney, nor a simul, not that I could before, and still … no forum…
But, I digress, the end of the game is another issue, of course, I know it’s ended when I tip my king, but I find myself calculating for a long time finally realizing, my opponent tipped their king, once upon a time, the pop up came up stating my opponent resigned, this is not a real issue, but it would be nice to let a player know their job is done…

I find myself after going over my game, and select my time control to play another, I’m sitting there until I close the app and open it again, selecting my time controls I get a game almost immediately, am I not connected to the server ? Must I always close the app for the next game. If I do not analyze or just look at the result, I get the next game right away, it’s when I wait the hour (or over like 5 minutes but, I don’t know really, how long the ‘shorter than hour’ interval is) for the next five moves, going back to home to play a new opponent is when it seems to hang up

The lichess messages feature, messages don’t come up, when I am in messages having a conversation I must get out of message and go back in to see what is said, is this not annoying? I find I must go to safari just to have a conversation… not that anything I have to say is ever important, but I would like having real time response, and not have to keep leaving the message feature and going back in.

At times the app just does nothing at all, I must not only quit the app, but flick it out of the iPad screen where all open apps can be viewed, then wait to a count then re activate the app…

The search feature is still buggy, why can I not get more than like 250 games at a time? When I select games that have been analyzed it gives me nothing I expect, but I like trying to get a date range for the limit of sought games because I’m looking for my games that I feel great about like a chess god, and want to put them all in studies so I don’t have to search again so hard, but then I don’t remember which study I stuck them in and still must search
The last time I was playing when the lichess countdown (lichess will shut down in a few minute notice) was going on, it froze at 9 seconds I had to restart the app, and in the middle of the first game I played, (after reopening the app) the lichess shutdown notice came another time…. This was not a happy moment for the likes o me……

After many of my games, I like to go over it with stockfish…
Now as to the ngn giving me ridiculous lines, I get it, I thank you for it, this way if someone is using it as a crutch WHILE playing a game against me, then I will not feel so bad that I lost, and may even win the game, I’m only like 1500, so please don’t expect me to beat stockfish at any result,, and I appreciate the ability to let it run for an hour to get a solid line, so it’s really not an issue, unless I forget and run through the quick recommended next moves and find the line went horribly wrong, then I must figure out how to not have gone through it in the first place,

as I was saying, no way to get to the study in app, I must go into safari, so, what happens is the hours I spent getting a line is not recorded like in a study, as I said I don’t trust the browser and cannot waste hours in the study for a suspect line …. where I get, for the hours I take it, a solid line through the app… but never remembered (but that was a cool position, it got me ) kind of stuff, so My braggadocio backfires because I misremembered the whole few hours of waiting…
You know “hey man!, you gotta see this cool line … “ and immediately fall flat because I misremembered the move order…

I’m old, and my memory plays tricks on me it and can’t remember 5 moves seconds later let alone try and do what I’m trying to do with 20 or more moves… not to say I’d ever come across it in a live game, I go away feeling like I saw something cool… but, I digress yet again, but, I would like to erase the mistakes I make in move order so as to get a full run play through a few times so it sinks in and I understand what is going on…so a study feature from the app would be much appreciated, because, I would not like to remember a poor line because I am daft.

So, thank you for reading this I hope you are doing well, and keep up the good work as I appreciate what you have produced, and maintain my lichess feathers, per month, ( and not the small lump sum, for it permanently, as I would give you guys much more in the long run by the month) this is how much I appreciate lichess as a whole chess experience.

Perhaps particularly, to this issue github.com/veloce/lichobile/issues/1708

Other then the standard app tips, of making sure you have the latest version of the operating system, the app and trying to restart the device/app I don't have any better suggestions. You are also welcome to try out lichess using the mobile browser.

That's the limit of my knowledge about this issue.
Mine is still unresponsive (iPhone 12 pro, up-to-date operating system, newest version of the app...which is where I believe the problems started, and restarted my phone). I've found workarounds within the app, but up until a couple weeks ago, it had always worked perfectly.
The last time my LiChess app was updated was May 24th. Since then there's been a couple of these threads that it's broken and both threads had people saying the problem was fixed without the LiChess app being updated.

The entire time both my iPhone and iPad worked perfectly. I don't think LiChess released a broken app and then ignored their users for a couple weeks.

Likely they tested it, use it every day, and regularly see 1000s of people using it on their site.
