War or Peace

it is not just that Russia thinks its cause is just, it is that Russia thinks it cause is self preservation against an aggressor who wants to destroy it. do any of you remember what provoked the Cuban Missile Crisis? How did the US respond?

where does Russia retreat to exactly? Ukraine on the other hand, could have negotiated for peace, at any time, refrained from murdering people in Crimea. but the NATO nations, specifically the US, the UK, and Germany sabotaged the Minsk agreements and the peace negotiations in 2022.
Manic disorder = 'excessive activity and talkativeness, impaired judgment, and sometimes psychotic symptoms, as grandiose delusions.'
seems to fit to someone who in 4 years has 21938 posts here.....
@pretzelattack1 , you write: "....Russia thinks it (sic -- its?) cause is self preservation against an aggressor who wants to destroy it."

Are you claiming that before the invasion Russia was afraid Ukraine would destroy Russia?

Just how could Ukraine destroy Russia? Is it a military secret? I see no sign that Russia was or is in danger of being "destroyed" by Ukraine. What am I missing?
ARghhhh my neighbor got a big scary truck, stopped going to my monthly poker gathering and decided to hang out with this guy I don't like ... justification to kill his dog and annex his shed, amirite?

A clear example is the indo pakistan war in 1973 i guess.
It was a devastating war .
I would take peace wherever there is war

noflaps, I am claiming that Russia reacted to the US aggression the way the US reacted to the USSR's response to US aggression during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The US was not afraid that Cuba would destroy the US. Russia was not afraid Ukraine would destroy Russia. Ukraine is currently bleeding out, and is probably finished as a nation, and the US doesn't care any more than it cared about freedom in South Vietnam or the lives of Iraqis, or today, Palestinians. and that is precisely the reason Russia was right to be afraid, as numerous US analysts had been predicting since the 1990's. don't cross that red line they said. The US crossed the red line, but Ukraine paid, not the US; as the recently retire Victoria Nuland said that was a great deal for the US, money of US defense contractors and not one American life lost (except for a few mercs). she viewed is a win win, which shows how much she values half a million dead Ukrainian soldiers. Like Madeleine Albright said of half a million dead Iraqi children due to sanction "it was worth it". The only difference is Albright put on a sad face, and Nuland did not bother to.

"We have heard that half a million [Iraqi] children have died. I mean, that is more children than died in Hiroshima," Stahl said. "And, you know, is the price worth it?"

"I think that is a very hard choice," Albright answered, "but the price, we think, the price is worth it."
when the drug cartel takes over your neighbors house, starts killing people down the street, and offers you a ham sandwich for your house, perhaps you should worry.
