insulting others

@#6
of course I block them. We can also block players who use an engine. So why this debate about cheating?
@#8
Danke Schachfreund! Aber sind die Amis nicht führend im Verklagen wegen jeder Kleinigkeit?
@#7
I gave some examples above and I think this is far beyond the freedom of speech.

There are so many situations in life that can make you feel angry. But what kind of reactions does this justify? No one likes to lose, but not everyone behaves like this. If someone cannot even lose a game without crying like a little child, maybe he should not play.
@TarjaTurunen I'm not condoning being rude and acting out in anger. What I'm saying is it's the natural response of many people. It is not a good behavior, but it is the expected one.

Yeah, in a utopic world, everyone will be so nice and always smiling and never act in anger and friendly and sweet all the time. But this is reality. And like it or not, reality is ugly. Deal with it.
@#10
I never enjoy making another person feel angry. You really do? I can't believe this. That would be very sad. Chess is not about that (at least not to me). I think we are a community here, it's not just against each other. It's about having fun together, maybe learning from each other. If a GM played me here and I lose, I will thank him for the lesson and not chase him away with insults. Strange world.

Yes it's reality, but still there are limits. For example we have laws. Look at my examples above, they are beyond everything. So here we need laws or rules.
many people myself included like to see freedom of speech as the freedom to say anything without restrictions but i understand that one can feel offended. i try to counter with a better insult or just grin about my at this moment probably good position and think about how to prolong the torture on the board. its a good workaround for me and in the end there is always the possibilty to block the player or deactivate the chat box.

my new favourite is "your mother is so classless she could be a marxist utopia"
@TarajTurunen, I don't enjoy making others angry either. This is why I'm not a good chess player. A chess player's mentality is to beat others. I've never enjoyed beating other people.

Your behavior after a GM beats you is gracious. But you're not an angel either. You can't tell me you've never gotten angry and felt infuriated at yourself or your opponent after losing. It's just human nature.

Without some kind of strict censorship, it's simply impossible to force everyone to be nice and sweet angels. It's just showing ignorance of the underlying problem which causes the anger in the first place.
@kjf
If you fight back you just show that you are hurt, he reached his goal. If someone uses an engine Lichess tells us not to do the same and they are right.
@mystical
I'm sure this is not the reason for not being a master. By the way, according to your ratings you can be considered a good player.
No, I'm not an angel and I feel angry about myself, for example when making a silly blunder. But why should I offend my opponent for this?
I'm not saying you should do that. I'm saying others will, no matter how hard you try to encourage them to act otherwise.
