Music loud on TV but voices quiet, remedy ?

I thought I would put this question to the Lichess community with the hope that someone knows the answer.
Incidentally I have tried the audio settings.
Is there perhaps a surround sound speaker solution that actually works to remedy this issue in anyone's first hand experience ?. :).
I'm also annoyed by it. No idea what moves in the cranial cavity of the producers.

I've seen the suggestion to lover the volume of the side channels as the dialogue is in the center channel.
@Mrchess78
I encounter the same problem with DVDs.
If you have a smart TV enabling your dynamic range option may help.

Yeah, I took a look at the settings but unfortuneately I think my TV may be a little limited with adjustment ranges. :).

Yeah exactly, I guess they reckon that we all have top end 5.1 surround sound installed in our homes.

And yeah, I took a look at my settings but it has limited scope of change unfortuneately. :).

Afaik audio engineers need to prepare it for theatrical releases where it's supposed to sounds so grandiose but are forbidden to create other versions for home viewing.

@Mrchess78 Try compressor in VLC. It's suppose to constrict the dynamic range so audio level is more balanced but I haven't used it myself.
And I thought it was just me getting old. I actually do watch some shows with closed captioning on. I hate to miss any dialogue.

Nice find, Toscani.
@Toscani

Yes, this is certainly one aspect of the sound issues I'm experiencing, but the main one is that the sound effects come through the speakers really loud while the voices come through considerably quieter, it's very irritating and ruins the experience of watching movies etc, when I have to keep altering the volume almost constantly throughout. :).
