Wordcup heads up in lichess

i think there could be 3 variants also...bullet cup , where all the time is 1 min, and the armagedon is white has 1 min but must win, black has lets say 40 seconds, 2nd = 3 min cup , and the armagedon will be black will have 20 precent less time which is if white has 3 min black will have 2 min and 24 seconds, on 5 min white will have 5 min and black 4 min ( or could be bullet action as i mentin 1 min and 30 sec for white and 1 min for black but doesnt make a lot of sence i think) thanks for the feedback !

my bad ....if white has 1 min black must have 38 seconds because it is 20 precent less like in the world cup, not 40 seconds :!!
20 precent = 12 seconds

Interesting idea, for me would be more desirable if this will be team vs team tournament. But I'm against high time controls as nowadays where there is a possibility to use engine even in 1 min game, it is impossible to catch player who will analyze and use engine only in critical positions, so imo time shouldn't be more that 2 min in such a tournament, also 1:30 min vs 1 min is dubious, many people have lag (including myself) on this site and black drawing chance won't compensate it, also fighting for 64 place isn't giving much courage, you should reduce that number :) This is my opinion about ...

titanos, good point, well we can not stop cheaters, the team? what you mean? auto pairiing team after we all register, or we make the team? i think autoparing team is better, lets say 3 vs 3 teams, the system will autopair looking at the avarage rating on the players. for not fighthining for 64 place, they could be immediate death elimination, so they will be fight only for 1st place, but i thout it will be disappinting for some players not to play, also if u lose first round and dont wanna play anymore, you can withdraw i thought, u get the last palce, but who cares, some of the players will enjot playinjg for 64 th palce, because the strenght of the opponents will be equal!!!!
About the time ... cheaters will exist..i think 5 min is best ( and 4 min fot black in the armagedon) lag is not too bad come on..era of internet :D

Auto-pairing sounds interesting, 4vs4. about time you can make survey.

or it could be like in counter strike
after first toruney who wins it wil win seed for the next tourney...or somethinf.....first round could be BO1 , which means only one game, second round BO3 winner from 3 games, 3rd round BO3, final round top 1 and 2 BO5 winnner from 5 games !
